Going back to my love of things vintage, today brings in the Louis Erard Heritage Chronograph. This watch pays homage to the older military watches popular during the late 1920’s and early 1930’s as far as it’s dial work. The crown, subdials and pushers are quite modern but don’t detract from the vintage styling. I think I would have liked to see them using wire lugs, but that’s just a small suggestion to this otherwise beautiful watch.

This Bulova made watch has been commissioned by Harley Davidson Motor Company, and has some absolutely wonderful styling. This watch features a Swiss quartz chronograph movement, knurled link bracelet, and a beautifully patterned white dial. It also features a oblong magnifier over the date at the 4 o’clock position which makes for a very unique detail. This watch reminds me quite a bit of the Cartier Roaster, but at a fraction of the price. This wonderful watch can be picked up for just $249.95 from Amazon.com a nice deal from the $275 MSRP.

I’ve been in love with military style watches, especially the style that was popular in the era of WWI. These watches were known as “trench watches” because they were primarily worn by the soldiers participating in the trenches that were made famous by that war. In fact, up until the war, wristwatches were primarily a women’s jewelry item, and men would never stoop to wearing one on the wrist, but rather, would slip theirs in the pocket. Because of the war, and the fact that a watch on the wrist was much easier to read, wristwatches on men was taboo no more. The Adee Kaye Oppose is a chronograph watch in the style of these early trench watches with a modern flair. It does stick to the standard of arabic numerals, onion type crown, and coin edge bezel. The particular model of the Oppose that I love is done in rose gold, brown leather bracelet type strap, and gold numerals.

This little gem was picked up at the local T.J. Maxx store for a very nice price. It is a Swiss quartz chronograph, and is approximately 40mm wide without crown and pushers. The bezel is unidirectional as a good dive watch should be, and the dial work is absolutely stunning. It is fairly lightweight and the rubber strap with deployant clasp is very comfortable. If you find one in the sub-200 range, I wouldn’t hesitate to jump on it.
