Invicta Skull Lupah Diver

by Adam

Posted in , , , , , , , ,

I’m a skull guy. Always have been. They just seem to be fascinating to me. The whole idea that we have this essential structure. It’s much like I enjoy seeing the steel girders or oak beams exposed in a living space. I like seeing the bits that make it possible for that structure to stand tall in the air and proclaim that this space is mine. In that vein, I absolutely fell in love with the Invicta Skull Lupah Diver when I first discovered it on accident during an eBay search. This watch features a Swiss Ronda quartz movement, black IP plating on both case and bracelet, and a blue tinted mineral crystal. This watch has become one of my absolute favorite watches that I own.

Croton two toned diver

by Adam

Posted in , , , , , , , ,

Croton as a company is backed by a man who gives his word that his warranty can’t be beat. In a world where watch companies are offering only 1 year warranties, and some are offering the rare 5 year warranty, Croton offers a limited lifetime warranty on all their watches. For this reason, I decided to give them a try recently with their two toned diver. This is probably one of my favorite watches. It is a fairly high quality watch for a little bit of money, with a great homage design of a Rolex Submariner. The Japanese Miyota automatic movement is a real workhorse, and is every bit as accurate as any Swiss engine. While I picked mine up at my local T.J. Maxx, you can snag this baby at just about anywhere.

Gerald Genta Retro Solo

by Adam

Posted in , , , ,

Gerald Genta is a name that is usually well known in horology circles. Probably one of the most famous Swiss watchmakers, Genta was known for his unusual designs that challenged the establishment in watchmaking. Now, there is a company that is trying to live up to the master watchmaker in both style and unique design. Taking their cues from the automotive industry, Gerald Genta watches in their highest form feature retrograde movements and dial designs reminiscent of speedometers in classic vehicles. Take the Retro Solo for instance, with it’s simple styling, reminds me very much of a 1960’s era Chevy speedometer. Nothing short of classy, this timepiece would surely make any collector bubble with excitement.

Bulova Harley Davidson Chronograph

by Adam

Posted in , , , , , ,

This Bulova made watch has been commissioned by Harley Davidson Motor Company, and has some absolutely wonderful styling. This watch features a Swiss quartz chronograph movement, knurled link bracelet, and a beautifully patterned white dial. It also features a oblong magnifier over the date at the 4 o’clock position which makes for a very unique detail. This watch reminds me quite a bit of the Cartier Roaster, but at a fraction of the price. This wonderful watch can be picked up for just $249.95 from Amazon.com a nice deal from the $275 MSRP.
